Sirena rioplatense embodies a mermaid born from the vast, shimmering, and wounded Río de la Plata. Through ritual gestures, kitsch aesthetics, and hybrid costume elements—crochet, netting, feathers, silver, and FX mermaid makeup—the piece navigates beauty, toxicity, and transformation.

A musical saw becomes an oracle; mud becomes a mask; an infusion system marks time through steady dripping. The Sirena moves between lament, resilience, and rest, mirroring the river’s extractivist histories, its pollution, and the fragile horizon that sustains millions.
