Rico Schüpbach studied Business Communications (B.Sc.) at the University of Applied Sciences in Zurich and currently works as freelance writer and lives in Buenos Aires, Argentina. They started their career in  the communication field in 2008 as a trainee at a lifestyle magazine. They have always been fascinated by the power of professionally produced images, aesthetics and texts, and therefore shifted to advertising and then to public relations. While pursuing their bachelor’s degree, Rico started to deepen their knowledge of gender and queer studies.

In 2018, Rico received their Master’s Degree in International Studies on Media, Power, and Difference from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona.
